Every day I get questions on how to fix dog reactivity. People ask to see it done. Well here it is. This is my very first session with a highly reactive pit bull. I stopped the reactivity with a tool called a pet corrector which puts out a loud blast of air that startles the dog and interrupts the behavior. Total elapsed time.. 5 minutes. • Instructions.. • Position yourself with your dog in between you and the distractions. Don’t ask for a sit, don’t ask for a down, the ONLY criteria is the dog does not move towards the stimulus. Watch your dogs PAWS. The second a paw moves in the direction of the distractions, verbally mark with a no, and spray the pet convincer right at the dogs side. Repeat process with additional distractions until your dog can successfully NOT engage in the other dogs.
