The spec did rub out and I have a great finish now. Next step Crystal Clear polymer "Wet look" finish! tested on the paint already and it is a non-smelling polymer thus no solvent to eat the delicae "chrome". Finishing my now BSA 16L Rickman tank I widened and narrowed the channel on so as to gain a lot of wasted capacity of this previously bolt on at yoke Montessa scrambles steel version. The fuel tap a small BSP at front will be a drain plug now and I have added 2 full size bladed fuel tap hole bungs on each side at back. Almost blew it with primary side tap as it just clears rocker and will get a chunk of rubber as a buffer and on the throttle side I needed a cut out or no side draft manifold without hard elbow fitting at carb cap to cable. I am sure the cable I have now on the Tomaselli will not hang up but to be free of cable breaking friction a custom cable or two will be made. I'll be putting this on the daily rider so finish is more practice than show quality. Happy so far but this tank has cost FAR more or close to most of the Indian made tanks and at least I know it will suit my needs. All that was used from the original tank was the sides with 1cm of edge I made the top and put a '37 Ford cap on it as I did not want to waste $65. and 2 months on a GP bung to weld in. Only saw stainless bungs in those on ebay. The BSA B25 sleeper is on hold for funding of the last 2 hurdles, a barrel bore and piston, kicker quad oh and about 30-40 more bits including the valve gear. A lot more to it than looking at an assembled one for 34 years!
