The other is an optional remote that you can buy for $99 USD. The standard remote has a few buttons and the optional remote has an LCD screen that's a touchscreen ✅ Both remotes allow you to control your panel without having to use the control panel at the side of the BioMax panels. There are good reasons PlatinumLED has incorporated a remote into their product lineup which will become apparent soon ✅ Remotes are very useful, as with some stands, if it's difficult to use the control panel, such as with a motorized stand or with a horizontal stand. Also, you can no longer connect the panels as was possible with the first and second-generation panels - right now, there's a BlueTooth receiver in all panels that responds to the remotes. That way, you're not exposed to EMF nor do you have to use cables. All the panels will turn on or off with the remote as well. ✅ The remote you automatically receive, the standard remote, only has two buttons, an on and off button, and a charging point for the battery. The standard remote is chargeable with an USB cable. The design and weight of the standard remote are also great so it doesn't feel like a cheap product ✅ The simplicity of the standard remote is a bit of a downside, as other companies offer remotes that have more buttons on them. Also, one downside is that the standard remote only activates the panel at 100% of the power of infrared and red light, with no ability to set up the power output at each part of the light spectrum ✅ The good thing is that the remote also works on the older panels as well, such as the generation two BioMax ✅ Then, there's the optional remote, also called the Professional Touchscreen Remote on the website or called the "Total Control System" - I'll use the first name here. This optional remote has a lot more options than the standard remote, as you can customize the timer settings of the panel, the power output to red and near-infrared ✅ The question is, why would you use the optional remote when it functions the same as the BioMax panels? Well, you can customize the treatment parameters or if you use a stand such as the motorized stand. With the latter option, it's really hard to reach around and set the panel up correctly if you're laying on the bed, for instance ✅ In a commercial setting, the optional remote might be great too. And, the optional remote only costs $100 USD ✅ Then, lastly, there's also a new PlatinumLED app that allows you to do the same thing the optional remote allows you to do. So, most people don't need to buy the optional remote.
