The Financial Times MBA Ranking 2026 is out — and it has turned the MBA world upside down. MIT Sloan hits #1 for the very first time. INSEAD claims #2. Wharton slides to #3. And three major schools — Stanford, Columbia, and SDA Bocconi — are completely absent from the list. But what does this actually mean for your application strategy? That's what this video is really about. A few important clarifications before you watch: Stanford did not drop off the FT ranking because their program declined. Stanford made a deliberate choice not to participate in the FT survey. This is a critical distinction — Stanford remains one of the most selective and respected MBA programs in the world. If Stanford is on your target list, this ranking should not change your thinking. Columbia and SDA Bocconi are a different case. They failed to meet the FT's minimum alumni survey response threshold — similar to being disqualified on a technicality rather than on merit. ISB's remarkable jump to #12 globally is shared with Nanyang Business School NTU — both schools are tied at that position. That said, ISB's 248% salary increase figure is one of the strongest transformation numbers on the entire list and deserves serious attention from Indian applicants. In this video I break down the Big Three — FT, QS, and US News — so you understand not just who ranked where, but why, and which ranking actually matters for your specific profile and career goals. What we cover: 00:00 – Why the FT 2026 rankings shocked everyone 02:30 – How the FT actually calculates rankings (salary methodology explained) 05:00 – ISB and SPJIMR: why Indian schools are punching above their weight 08:00 – QS rankings: why Wharton still dominates on reputation 11:00 – US News: the inputs ranking and what it tells applicants 14:00 – Which ranking should YOU use for school selection? 🚀 FREE PROFILE ANALYSIS I'm selecting real profiles to feature and evaluate in upcoming episodes.
