Open Data: Are you searching for quality childcare? Do you need to convince city council to fix a pothole in your neighborhood? Are you writing a grant for a local nonprofit? Are you a transportation entrepreneur? Are you a journalist telling or investigating a story? Are you searching houses near high-quality schools? If any of these questions sound familiar, then open data might be part of your answer. Open Data is “data and content that can be freely used, modified, and shared by anyone for any purpose.” It’s an important part of civic technology and advocating for change with evidence. About the Video: This video explores what open data is and how people use it in their lives. Whether you are a librarian, public servant, community member, or entrepreneur, this video demonstrates how open data may be helping improve your life, community and work.
