What evidence do you need to win a mental health Social Security disability claim in Georgia? As I discuss in this video, diagnosed mental health problems can support a claim for disability if your mental health condition is your primary or sole impairment, or if your disability arises from a combination of physical and mental problems. Either way, Social Security disability judges will be looking for evidence of a severe condition - it is not enough to see your family doctor once or twice a year for refills of an anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medication. Instead, disability judges in Georgia hearing offices expect to see on-going treatment with a psychiatrist or psychologist, evidence that your condition is not controlled with medication or therapy, and evidence that your mental issues significantly interfere with your capacity to handle day to day life.
