Since 2003 the World Tango Championship has been held, it is an Argentine tango dance competition in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina whose government is the organizer, in three categories: Tango on the floor or tango salon #tangopista and #tango stage or tango show #tangoescenario and Senior Tango track. It is an international competition that is carried out with qualifiers in the first place, where all the registered couples compete, the jury chooses the semifinalists and finalists. The finals of both categories are held in show style on a stage and place chosen especially for it. There are pre-world championships in Argentina and in different countries where the best finalist tango couples go directly to the finals or semifinals. Desde el 2003 se realiza el Campeonato Mundial de Tango es una competencia de baile de tango argentino en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina cuyo gobierno es el organizador, en tres categorías: Tango de pista o tango salón #tangopista y #tango escenario o tango show #tangoescenario y Tango pista Senior. Es una competencia internacional que se realiza con clasificatorias en primer término, donde todas las parejas anotadas compiten, el jurado elige a semifinalistas y finalistas. Las finales de ambas categorías se realizan en estilo show en un escenario y lugar elegido especialmente para ello. Existen premundiales en Argentina y en diferentes países donde las mejores parejas de tango finalistas pasan directamente a las finales o semifinales
