Trix Flying Scotsman and Bachmann Class 141'IE' Orange 177 Weathered.
Today I got to play trains for Xmas. I wanted to see what the double tender FS looked like with the teak coaches I applied the ink wash to. Threw on a couple of oldies to make up a longer train. Also have had this little gem from Murphy Models sitting in a box for a few years now, surprised at how good it is. I generally avoid Bachmann if there is a Hornby alternative, but on this occasion I was pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately I have no Irish rolling stock to go with it. It is an amazing slow runner, DCC ready with directional lighting. If you like modelling Irish, this is a good one to have. I was watching a clip of the FS on tour in Australia back in 1988 during which I noticed the running gear didn't seem to travel faster than the speed I ran mine today. The wheels certainly were moving quite fast though. Can't model everything I suppose.
