You should check also that the azimuth knobs and altitude knobs are tight enough and verify the position of Polaris, also after you mounted all the equipment, to be sure is in the same position, and if it moved a little, then you should adjust the position using the knobs.( and leave the equipment on). Be sure you mount the equipment gentle and you do not hit or move the tripod so the position of Polaris will not change ! This tutorial can be useful even if you use other mount.
