🥾 Day 3 — Trekking to Shogor Biasin Campsite Tirich Mir Basecamp Expedition Sponsored by KPCTA – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture & Tourism Authority Day 3 of my 7-day trekking adventure to Tirich Mir Basecamp began at the picturesque Shaniyak campsite, nestled at 3,200 meters in a tranquil forest near the Tirich River. After a hearty breakfast, we laced up our boots and hit the trail—a 9 km trek that unfolded over 6 hours through breathtaking alpine terrain. One of the most surreal moments was crossing the white stretch of the Lower Tirich Glacier, surrounded by towering peaks and icy silence. 🏔️ Day 3 Highlights – Shaniyak to Shogor Biasin 🌧️ Rain Delay: Early morning showers postponed our departure. 🍳 Late Start: Began trekking after breakfast once the skies cleared. 🧗‍♂️ Steep Ascent: The trail turned sharply uphill from the beginning. 🪨 Boulder Fields: Navigated massive boulders—challenging and exhilarating. ❄️ Glacier Crossing: Reached and crossed the white stretch of Lower Tirich Glacier. 🥪 Lunch Stop: Ate near the black stretch of the glacier, surrounded by icy terrain. 🥾 Glacier Trek: Continued for 3 hours across the glacier; light rain returned in the evening. ⛺ Camp Arrival: Reached Shogor Biasin campsite in the rain and settled into tents. 🍵 Warm-Up: Hot tea and a short nap helped us recover from the cold. 🍲 Dinner Delight: Enjoyed Chitrali soup, roasted mutton, and rice—comfort food at its finest. 🌧️ Early Night: Turned in early as rain persisted; next day’s plan depends on weather. This expedition is part of KPCTA’s initiative to promote adventure tourism in the stunning region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
