You could install the plugin, and then open the plugin in your DAW and follow the prompts to get your license, but I like to do it manually. The great thing about doing it manually is you will have the latest version of the iLok License Manager, you can activate the license and install the plugin at a later date, and when you go to use your plugin it will be ready to go. Today, most iLok licenses can be placed on the computer hard drive, so you don't need a physical iLok key (this varies between plugins). Whether you activate to a physical iLok dongle or to the computer, you will still need to install the plugin on any computer you want to use it on.
