Bruce needs the prayers, he has some health issues. I made this video to document his Don Hardy Constructed 74 Ford Pinto he raced in Modified Eliminator, and won the NHRA 1975 World Championship, and the US nationals in 1978. He won many other races with this Pinto race car. It was powered by a Ford 300 6 cylinder, Topped with a custom Bruce Sizemore designed 351 Cleveland 4V 6 cylinder head. It was made from 3 351 4V cylinder heads, that were cut into 6 pieces, and furnaced brazed by CJ Batten of Romulus Michigan. The cost of the head back in 1974 was $2000. The included the custom exhaust port plate, to raise the exhaust ports, 1 1/2 inches. The stock Cleveland exhaust port is, inherently port outflow design secondary to chassis fitment in stock shock tower Ford cars of the day. The engine was bored .030, has some block mods, O ring receivers in the block, a unique 2 piece pushrod, and sleeve set up. The engine uses Brooks Pistons and Rods. The rods are 392 hemi rods, with 2.100 big end. The pistons are gas ported with 10 .043 holes in the top to aid in ring seal. Cam is .700 net lift, 270/280 duration at .050. Homemade injection intake manifold, with Hilborn injection, butterflys were 2 7/16 inch. Custom Moroso style Gold valve cover. Car was built by Don Hardy, and has Ladder bar style rear suspension. Runs a Doug Nash 5 speed, Ford 9 inch rear end, with custom Lenco main caps and Gapp and Roush load bolt. It ran Schaeffer rear gears, 5.14-5.43, with rear slicks being 14x31.5, on Motowheel Flys, 10x12 rims. The engine made over 500 hp, with 9,000 rpm red line, and went in 9.70s. Bruce is restoring it back to original condition, so it should be pretty killer when done. I also added his 1971 Maverick Preparation H, another 6 cylinder monster, and pics of Bruce, and Al Turner. Thank you for watching. DragBoss Garage, Where Your Always Seeing, And Learning Something New
