DRAGON TV (东方卫视) is a satellite TV channel under Shanghai Media Group (SMG) that is famous for its news coverage in China. Dragon TV started using this news theme since January 1, 2006. In this video, I showed four of the five live news programs that aired in 2015 and used this news theme. As of April 3, 2017, SMG Dragon TV uses the following studios: 1) S1 - Morning 看东方, Headlines 东方大头条 (News Midday), Primetime News 东方新闻, Nightly News 东方夜新闻 (starting April 3, 2017), Crossover 环球交叉点 (Weekend Edition) - simulcast with Knews24 2) S1 - Shanghai Today 直播上海 - SMG Dragon TV Exclusive (March 20, 2014 - March 1, 2017); simulcast with Knews24 (March 2, 2017 - March 31, 2017 [last edition]) 3) Virtual studio #1 (shared with SMG DocuTV 纪实频道) - Defense News Watch 防务新时空 (Weekend Edition) - simulcast with Knews24 4) Virtual studio #2 (mock studio of S1) - A Tale of Two Cities (Weekend) 双城记 - simulcast with Knews24 Update (April 3, 2017): Starting March 3, 2017, SMG Dragon TV expanded its nightly news program - Shanghai Today 直播上海 to half an hour (2130-2200BJT on weekdays, simulcast with Knews24) for more detailed news report of two annual major national political conferences - NPC & CPPCC (March 3, 2017 - March 15, 2017). The program continued its half-an-hour program schedule after the conferences till its last edition on March 31, 2017. Major rebrand: On April 1, 2017, SMG Dragon TV officially aired promo for the revival of Nightly News 东方夜新闻 on April 3, 2017 (2130-220BJT on weekdays) in place of Shanghai Today. Nightly News was the nightly news program of SMG Dragon TV from 2003 to 2012. Update (August 19, 2017): Starting July 1, 2017, SMG Dragon TV further added 10-minute weekend version of Nightly News 东方夜新闻 (2130-2140BJT on weekends). Apologies in advance for the audio quality.
