In the vibrant music scene of 1970s Sussex, England, there existed a powerhouse hard rock band known as Dr. Burns and The Devil's Dandruff. They were discovered by well known band manager (Richard) Dick Liqueurs. Dick saw potential in their sound and showmanship, and helped mold their musical direction while managing the band and helping out on the road. They were five exceptionally talented and passionate musicians, creating a magnetic energy that were influenced by legendary bands like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, and Rush. They carved out their own distinctive sound that resonated with fans seeking raw, unadulterated rock 'n' roll. The front man and lead vocalist of the band was none other than the charismatic and enigmatic Dr. Burns(Jim Burns). With his piercing gaze, and soulful voice that could range from haunting whispers to primal screams, he was the driving force behind the band's creative song writing. Dr. Burns was a true showman, commanding the stage with an intense energy that drew listeners into the dark and hypnotic world of their music. The guitarist, known simply as "The Devil"(Gerald Carving) was a maestro of his craft, wielding his instrument with a ferocity and finesse that bordered on the otherworldly. He idolized the playing of Tony Iommi. He brought a fiery passion to every riff and solo, setting the stage ablaze with his relentless energy and playing skills. The drummer, a powerhouse of rhythm and precision, went by the moniker of "Thunder Foot" (Charlie Cooper). With an imposing presence and a thunderous roar of drums that could shake the very foundations of any venue, he anchored the band with his formidable beats and unrelenting tempo. Thunder Foot's command of the drums was nothing short of awe-inspiring, driving the band forward with an unyielding force that propelled their music to greater heights. Not much is known about the second rhythm guitarist but his name was Jacob Bently. And last but not least was the bass player, Mikey Jones, whose deep grooves and pulsating rhythms provided the solid foundation upon which the band's sound was built. Despite his quiet and unassuming demeanor, Mikey's bass lines resonated with an undeniable power and emotion, intertwining seamlessly with the rest of the band to create a sonic tapestry that was both intricate and impactful. As Dr. Burns and The Devil's Dandruff gained momentum with their hit song "Powder Man," the future was looking bright for the band. According to band manager (Richard) Dick Liqueurs, plans for a 2nd full-length album were in the works, promising to catapult them to great success. However, fate had other plans in store for them.. In 1978 tragedy struck one fateful night as the band was on the road, their tour bus colliding with a semi-truck in a horrific accident. Only Mikey Jones survived, though he was left paralyzed from the neck down, confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his days until his death in 1982. The music community mourned the loss of Dr. Burns and The Devil's Dandruff, a band that had burned brightly and left an indelible mark on the history of rock music. Their legacy lived on through their music, forever immortalized in the hearts of their fans. After the crash their record become sort of a cult classic. It has been speculated that as little as a hundred copies had been pressed making it a rarity to find amongst vinyl collectors. LINK BELOW TO THE DR.
