TREASURES OUT OF DARKNESS Praise God. The Lord said, And I will give you treasures out of darkness, riches stored in secret places so that you may know that I am the Lord. I AM the Lord and there is no other. I form the light and create darkness. You heavens above rain down righteousness. Let the clouds shower down. Let the earth open wide. Let salvation spring up. Let righteousness grow with it. I, the Lord, have created it. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ. It says, Come, gather together. Assemble you fugitives from the nations. We're fugitives. We have no home but with Jesus Christ. That's our true home. We're occupying space here right now. It says, Turn to Me and be saved all ye ends of the earth. For I am God and there is no other. Before Me, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord. Reeni I love Reeni. When I was bound up on drugs, she was trying to witness the gospel to me and I wouldn't hear it. I would get drunk. I kept being drawn to her, drawn back to her. I would go out on the road. We had a home in Spain. We had a home in New York City that we leased. Then we had a home on Long Island (New York) that I brought through Jesus Christ Superstar. Maureen was out there (on Long Island). Reeni, I call her Reeni, was out there standing strong for the Lord. And I kept coming home. But every time I would come home, I would stay for a few days and I would have to leave. One of the things that drove me nuts was every night when I would go to sleep ---- My hair. I had really long wild hair. This is nothin'. This is, this is my Marine look tonight. :) Some of you guys write me and say I need a Marine Corp hair cut. I thought I had one. :) There was more on the floor than on the head after I finished that last one. Any way, I was bound up. And one of the things that used to drive me nuts was I would go to bed at night, and my hair would look all cool. And I'd wake up and I would look like Elvis Presley. There was oil and grease all over my head every night. :) And I'd say, 'Why do I always wake up all greased up? Baby, what's happenin' here?' One time I caught her. I caught her. She had that little oil out there. She was doing her little thing in the middle of the night. :) She'd just take that bottle and dump it on my head. 'Course I was usually past out so I wouldn't know. I didn't know how to fall asleep. I only knew how to pass out. Praise God, I've been delivered. Praise the Lord. Shaye Praise God. Shaye's my baby. She'll always be my baby. She grew up in a very rough environment. Some people think growing up on the street is the only way to grow up rough. Well, Shaye grew up in a $3,000,000 home. She was chauffered to nursery and grade school in a limousine, Cadillac limousine. Yet she had a father that was on drugs; beating his wife; screaming; going into fits; drunken. She would get up in the morning and she would find rock'n'roll buddies of mine laying down on the floors of different parts of the house. Reeni was battling against this. She was really going through it. But now, my daughter is singing praises to the Lord Jesus Christ. Young people, you need to serve Jesus. Those of you young people out there that are rebellious, you need to figure out who to rebell against. You need to rebell against the kingdom of Hell. As recently as three years ago (1987) I was saved but not surrendered. People ask me, 'How long have you been saved?' I say, 'I've been saved ten years, surrendered three.' And I was working in a rock group on CBS. My bass player, drummer, and guitarist are now with other rock groups. They're (were) out touring with Whitesnake. I walked away because I knew Jesus had a call on my life. Three years ago I was making the mistake of taking my daughter out to the homes of the different rock group friends of mine. She was going back stage and hanging out with these different people. And I'm going to tell you somethin'. The power is not in that place of darkness. The power is standing in the light of Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God is moving in families. Exhortation If you've ever shouted at a football game; if you've ever shouted at a heavy rock concert; if you've ever shouted over anything; you should be shouting over the fact that Jesus shed His blood and raised from the dead. Praise God! Praise the Lord! HOW GREAT THOU ART O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power thru-out the universe displayed. Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee; How great Thou art, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee; How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
