Rib pain? Mid back pain? Shoulder issues? ⭐️⭐️RIB & MID BACK HACK⭐️⭐️ - The joint between the posterior aspect of the ribs and the transverse process of your spine is subject to two things: 1. Translational shear due to torsional load. 2. Adhesion because of loss of thoracic mobility. Either way, it feels like someone is repeatedly stabbing you. - The problem is that the rib pain is the least of your worries, because the cause is something much deeper, thoracic spine pliability. The intercostals restrict rib expansion and at the same time, cause rib expansion (External intercostals expand the chest, internal intercostals compress the chest). - The thoracic spine affects rib pliability. As the spine stiffens and becomes restricted, you end up feeding slack into the torso by allowing increased rib expansion/contraction. This throws that contact joint into a world of hurt. - The other aspect is that the scapula is essentially fused to the posterior ribcage, this forces load on the ribs every time the shoulder moves. The scapula is designed to float across the ribcage and when it’s locked out, your shoulder movement causes a compensation reaction feeding slack through the lumbar spine. Here’s what needs to happen: 1. The scapula needs to be released from the posterior ribcage. 2. The thoracic spine has to reclaim its extension and rotation. 3. Your CNS needs a reboot to avoid reinforcing bad position. 4. The rib itself needs to be unlocked.
