This project is extra special because it’s all about creating a Christmas surprise for a deserving hero. My friend Scott wanted to gift his daughter—a hardworking registered nurse—a beautifully functioning Rolex Oyster Perpetual (model 67193 from 1998) for Christmas. But when Rolex informed him they couldn’t service it in time, he asked if I could step in. Of course, I couldn’t say no to such a heartfelt gift! The watch came with its share of challenges. Its last service, over 12 years ago, was poorly executed, leaving excessive lubrication throughout the movement. It also suffered from faulty reverser wheels, and at some point, moisture had entered the case due to a missing crown gasket. In this video, We'll go through the entire process of bringing this elegant timepiece back to life. The movement has been fully rebuilt with proper lubrication, and the case received a much-needed refresh. The result? A Rolex ready to delight its new owner on Christmas morning.
