Dr. Filomena Trindade Addresses: Insulin Resistance is at record numbers in the United States. Our patients are suffering the consequences of undiagnosed insulin resistance with a variety of diseases. At the core, however, is the contribution of the gut microbiota to the continuum which often goes unrecognized. Understanding the pathophysiology of insulin resistance, and how changes in the gut microbiota can lead to it is a key point of this presentation.
