Due to the current circumstances, the choral competition portion of Tao Rin Pala could not be held. The UP MedChoir decided to create this virtual choir performance of the OSCE Song not only as a tribute to the TRP Choral Competition, but also to the struggles that we, medical students, experience throughout our medical school journey. The OSCE Song was composed and arranged by Dr. Raphael Arada and Dr. Patricia Collantes as UPCM 2012’s entry to the TRP Choral Competition in 2009. The song tells the story of a nervous medical student in the process of performing their OSCE and all the emotions that come with it. To quote a line from the song, “Sana’y ating alalahanin hanggang sa ating pagtanda, na ang mga pasyente natin ay tao rin pala.” We hope that this performance will serve as a reminder for all physicians and physicians-in-the-making to always be mindful of our patients and the individual stories that they bring.
