It's here. My arrangement of "Meta Knight's Revenge" from Kirby Super Star, composed by Jun Ishikawa; based on the iconic Super Smash Bros. Brawl version, arranged by Noriyuki Iwadare. I've long considered this tune to be the "final boss" of video game music; this project was a highly demanding effort for everyone involved. A huge shoutout especially to Howi Dietz for learning the insane tenor solo I composed, note for note, exactly as I wrote it back in 2013. This arrangement was nearing completion around the time that Flipside, the original iteration of this band/channel dissolved, and no one ever actually played it. Approximately the last minute of the arrangement was left partially unfinished (as I was preparing to move to Boston to attend Berklee at the time), but I sang my planned ending into a voice memo on my old BlackBerry phone. That voice memo survived, and that's the ending you hear now. It's surreal to finally bring the chart to life after all this time, with a set of world-class players based in Canada, the USA, and Japan.
