Robbery suspect dies after shooting by Columbus police near Ohio State’s south campus

Columbus Police say an officer fatally shot a robbery suspect near Ohio State University’s south campus early Sunday morning. Around 3:36 a.m., officers responded to a robbery at N. High Street and E. 9th Avenue. The suspect allegedly pointed a firearm, fled on foot, and was shot by police near the Lantern apartments. A gun was recovered at the scene. The suspect later died at Grant Medical Center.
