However you could also use these ideas when you are teaching in a classroom situation. These are really practical ideas that I have used many times and you will be able to use them in your classroom immediately. My background is an educational technologist and currently I'm a teacher trainer at King's College university London but in the past I've worked at both the University of Westminster and the University of Warwick where I train teachers and professors in using technology when delivering their classes. In this video I show you some really practical ideas using some of my favourite three technologies. Some of these ideas focus around working with audio, some of them focus around working with writing and getting students to share their ideas. All of the ideas that I show you in this video are really focused on teaching online or on blended learning and are focused on collaborative type activities that we can do with our students. I also focus on a technology called Mentimeter as well as working with the technology called Screencast-o-matic. all of these technologies can be used for free and really reliable and easy-to-use technologies. One of the things I try to show you is how you can take the pressure off yourself as a teacher as a lot of teachers find teaching online very stressful and find that the focus is always on them. In this video I try to suggest different ideas and ways that you can take the pressure off yourself and focus more on the students. Teaching online does take training and though many of the experiences of the Classroom are useful there are some key things that you need to think about when you are teaching online and using teaching online techniques. For example one of the tools that we look at is Padlet. Padlet can be used for lots of collaborative type activities however in this video I show you a really simple technique that can save you a lot of time when working with Padlet. So students can share their audio recordings in Padlet and then at the end you simply listen to All the audio recordings and record 1 summary video of what you've been hearing. This way you don't have to give feedback to individual students and they can save you a lot of time but it also means the students can listen to your summary and extract the key points from the Padlet #teachingonline #teachingideas #teachonline
