JOIN BROADCAST PLAZA TODAY, DISCORD'S MEDIA DISCUSSION COMMUNITY — http://bit.ly/S31MA Originally uploaded in January 2021, this is a reupload of that same video with one major change. Due to the person whose drone video was originally used filing a complaint over that use (despite credit being given), I will no longer be using that anymore in my videos. From here on out, I will be using either copyright safe backgrounds from a library I'm licensed to use, or Creative Commons images of the city that is the subject of the video. For this video, I decided to stick with backgrounds, easier that way. This would have been up sooner, but I just never had the time to re-render the file until now. I was in the Houston market in early January, only for a couple of days though, which was nowhere near enough time to capture everything this huge market has to offer. Still, since it's been a couple of years since I last did a comprehensive montage of this market, I figured I would take the time to snag some updated IDs from some of the more major FM signals in town, along with a couple of AMs for good measure. So while this is nowhere near a complete look at all of the stations in Houston, please know I tried to get as many as I could. Also I prioritized any viewer requests so a couple of these stations I made extra sure that I got them. I did bring the HD radio with me (only because a viewer wanted me to do a bandscan with it; that's coming, eventually!) but I didn't record any HD station IDs this time around, because of the limited time I had there and I wanted to get as many "main/analog" signals as I could. All were recorded on either a Sangean ATS-909X, which is my "main" recording radio, or my portable CCWitness+ pocket radio/recorder. I do have more from this Houston trip coming including TV stuff and the radio bandscan (already uploaded TV). I'm trying to get those out as soon as I can. Those are by far the most tedious to put together (i'm not just going to throw up a video of me switching stations on the radio - longtime subscribers know I put quality over quantity). I'll get to the TV stuff after that. Here are the stations that are included AM: 610 KILT/100.3-2 KILT-FM-HD2 Houston (SportsRadio 610; Sports; Entercom) 1320 KXYZ Houston ("Black Information Network"; Black-oriented news; iHeartMedia) 1560 KGOW Bellaire ("Viet Radio 1560"; Brokered Vietnamese; VIETV Network) FM/HD: 88.7-1 KUHF Houston ("News 88-7"; NPR/Public Radio; University of Houston) (viewer request: northmountainfilms Official Account 2) 89.3-1 KSBJ Humble ("89.3 KSBJ"; Contemporary Christian; Hope Media Group) 90.1-1 KPFT Houston/89.5 K208DG Galveston/91.9 K220KC Huntsville ("90.1 KPFT"; Community Radio/Talk; Pacifica Radio) 91.7-1 KXNG Houston/91.1 KYBJ Lake Jackson/89.5 KZBJ Bay City/91.3 K217GB Houston ("91.7 NGEN Radio"; Christian Hip-Hop; Hope Media Group) 92.1 KROI Seabrook ("Radio Now 92.1"; CHR/Top 40; Urban One) (viewer request: Devin Giles) 92.9-1 KKBQ Pasadena ("The New 93Q"; Country; Cox Media Group) 93.7-1 KQBT Houston ("93-7 The Beat"; Hip-Hop; iHeartMedia) 94.5-1 KTBZ-FM Houston ("94-5 The Buzz"; Alternative/Active Rock; iHeartMedia) 95.7-1 KKHH Houston ("95-7 The Spot"; Adult Hits; Entercom) 96.1 KTRU-LP Houston ("96.1 K-TRU"; College Radio; Rice University) 96.5-1 KHMX Houston ("Mix 96-5"; Hot AC; Entercom) 98.5 KTJM Port Arthur/101.7 KNTE Bay City ("La Raza 98.5 y 101.7 FM"; Regional Mexican; Estrella Media) 99.1-1 KODA Houston ("Sunny 99.1"; AC; iHeartMedia) (both daytime as well as the nighttime "Delilah" IDs) 100.3-1 KILT-FM Houston ("100.3 The Bull"; Country; Entercom) 101.1-1 KLOL Houston ("Mega 101"; Latin Pop; Entercom) 102.1-1 KMJQ Houston ("Majic 102.1"; Urban AC; Urban One) 102.9-1 KLTN Houston ("Qué Buena 102.9"; Regional Mexican/Talk; Univision Radio) 104.1-1 KRBE Houston ("104.1 KRBE"; CHR/Top 40; Cumulus Media) 105.7 KHCB-FM Houston and 5 translators ("KHCB"; Christian Talk/Music; Houston Christian Broadcasters) 107.5-1 KGLK Lake Jackson/106.9-1 KHPT Conroe ("The Eagle"; Classic Rock; Cox Media Group) 107.9 KQQK Beaumont ("El Norte 107.9"; Regional Mexican; Estrella Media) As well as some IDs recorded on the way to and from Houston (I was not the driver, don't worry!): 98.3 KULM-FM Columbus ("98-3 KULM"; Country; S Content Marketing) 104.9 KBUK/1570 KVLG La Grange ("KVLG/KBUK"; Country; KBUK Radio, Inc.) 106.3 KMLR Gonzales ("K-Love"; Christian Contemporary; Educational Media Foundation) All copyrights are held by the original broadcasters and are posted here for educational and historical purposes only.
