I'm Matt of etrailer. Today, we'll gonna be talking about the TruXedo Soft Roll-Up Tonneau Cover on our 2021 GMC Canyon. Now this can be a great option if you're looking for something that's gonna be more affordable, but it's gonna be great for protecting any of your gear or anything you have in the back of your bed from the elements. So let's take a closer look at it. So here at etrailer, we have a bunch of options when it comes to tonneau covers for your truck. It is important that you put in your vehicle's information into our fit guide to make sure you're getting the right one, because they all will have specific fits. So make sure you do that. And let's talk a little bit more how this one works. So there's a lot of soft roll-up ones out there, and this one, it feels really good and I think it looks nice too. Some of the other ones out there don't feel the greatest when it comes to actually operating them. This one is still pretty smooth to operate. All we have to do is come over here, pull on this cable, and that releases it. And this one is fairly tight. That could be due to a couple reasons. One, it is new and it's pretty cold outside, so if you're in a similar situation, it's probably gonna be like that too. But I actually like the tightness from it. It kind of makes me feel like we're gonna get a better fit on here. And when it comes to rolling it up, that doesn't really fight me. And this is the thing I like about a soft roll-up when I compare it to a hard tonneau cover. The reason being is with a hard tonneau cover, they typically take up a lot more space. So if you have a trifold, some of them will just fold up a few times and take up a big old chunk of your bed or it'll fold up and block your back window. With this style, we're gonna get as close as we can to our cab, use these hooks to hold it into place. And if we notice, this is how it's gonna sit below our headrest and our rear seats. So really you're giving the best of both worlds for that. Let me give you a couple measurements so we know exactly how this is fitting back here. So the first one I'm gonna do is gonna be from the back of the bed to where this is sitting here, that's roughly around three and a half inches. And for a six-foot bed that we have right now, that's plenty. Now if I really needed to save just a couple more inches, I could push this forward some and we'll get that extra space. So that's the nice thing about it being soft, it is gonna be pretty flexible to move around. Now when it comes to the total height that adds to the back of your bed, with this rolled-up now, it's gonna be about four and a half inches. so not very high at all, and the rails are gonna be about an inch and a half. So that's pretty hard to beat. Now there are gonna some other types of tonneau to recovers out there that are gonna flush with your bed, but those are gonna be much more premium and they're typically gonna be a hard tonneau to cover. And one more measurement I'm gonna get is it rolled out some. So this is gonna be important to know, if you have anything that you wanna stack in your bed or just leave in your bed, you wanna make sure this is not gonna interfere. So I'm gonna go from this bar that goes across. The space we have in there right now is if you have anything below 21 inches, it's gonna fit back here. So that's gonna be most accessories like your boxes or anything like that or totes will fit just fine. Now what this bar is doing specifically here is when there's a rain or it's snowing outside, what this is gonna do is allow that runoff to not really sit on your tonneau cover but go off to the edges. That's important because if you have a lot of weight sitting back here for an extended period of time, it can typically stretch these tonneau covers. But since we have those bars there, it's gonna help alleviate that. Now we talked about the tonneau cover itself at this amount, let's talk about its rail some. So with these rails, they are gonna have this hook and loop. And this hook and loop's actually a pretty sturdy one. Some of them don't hold on very well. This one's doing quite nice. And you will notice it is covering up your steak pockets. So definitely good to know. If you want to use your steak pockets for anything else, this is probably gonna block it. So when we go over
