Building the World’s First Restorative Justice Postcode: An Introductory Update

RJ4ll is endeavouring to build the world’s first restorative just postcode right here in SE16. This means we are collaborating with local stakeholders across SE16 to see restorative justice principles instilled in the local institutions and community. A restorative justice postcode will more equally distribute power throughout the community and address harm through restorative practices and preventative measures. With an understanding of restorative justice principles, key stakeholders will collaborate to alleviate poverty, reduce crime, support young people, celebrate diversity, and repair harm. RJ4All is drawing on its 10-year history as an international research institute to implement the principles of restorative justice at a hyper-local level. As part of this project, we are collecting data to monitor the effectiveness of our services and approach at a local level to produce high-quality research. This research could then be used to pioneer the development of future restorative justice postcodes in London and internationally through effective user-led and data-driven methods.
