The RV industry projects that by the end of 2020 they will have shipped half a million new units to dealers this year, setting a new record. The industry also estimates that there are 9 million US households with an RV. Most of those new units are being snapped up by first-time buyers as a safe way to travel during the coronavirus pandemic. That means that we can expect at least a 5% increase in campers looking for a campsite, and things are already busy and crowded. Our camping preference is for boondocking, and while it's getting tough to get a reservation at RV parks and campgrounds in many areas, the same holds true in popular boondocking locations.
