During our Bushcraft Trip my girlfriend and I slept in a tarp shelter where we cooked meat on hot stones using an upside down fire. We slept comfortably in a tarp on our reindeerskins and baked pancakes in the morning with delicious forest fruits, stroop, and powdered sugar. Spring has arrived in mid-Sweden, bringing warm and dry weather. Therefore, we've chosen to cook safely on stones. It's crucial to exercise caution with fire in such conditions. "Upside Down Fire" is an efficient method where the fire burns from the top down, requiring less wood and lasting longer. Wood is layered in alternating directions, with tinder and kindling placed on the top. When lit, the flames slowly work their way down through the lower layers. However our fire was small and did not last really long. When the ground is not as dry as it is here, we prefer a bigger upside down fire next time. We hope you enjoy this video.
