Afternoon trip to Decin to climb a few routes. Not a super smart move to start with Pastyr (D), where I messed up the first overhang and cooked my forearms after the first 5 meters :/ Seeing the mistakes I did, am really looking forward to come here again and do it properly. So continued during the same climb to Frona (E) with the dreaded overhang. Tried it last year once and had to retreat from it. So gave it a second chance this time. You will see a fall of a Polish climber in rented basic equipment towards the end of the video. I met him and his friends underneath it when I went for it, so he also gave it a try and learned the hard way.. And to complete the difficult collection for the day went for Stribrna vule / Silver will (D) with a long vertical climb with no leg supports on the edge of a chimney. A true arm power exercise. The last two were kind of a reward - Rock Empire (D) is my favorite in Decin and Memento HTW is the easiest D here, so that one was just in to stretch a bit and enjoy the views before heading home. Here I actually captured the fall of the fellow climber on Frona. He hung there for about 20 minutes and had to be rescued from above. No injury, fortunately.
