Adjusting soundposts is central to workshop practice, and yet there has been almost no research into the acoustical effects of these adjustments. This changed with Jim Woodhouse’s recent modelling of the soundpost. At the 2025 Acoustics Workshop (held at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor) we followed up with experiments testing the effects of changing soundpost length, position, and angle on violin radiativity and admittance.
