The two part documentary from ‪@CBSSports‬ !! Growing the Game (Upside Down) is the story of an advertising executive who found inspiration to buy Walton & Hersham FC in the UK after watching the series Sunderland til I Die. Partnering with a Walton local football savant Calogero Scannella, they undertake the lofty goal of driving the club up the pyramid. On the way, Christopher Corey also purchases a horse farm in Florida and begins to transform the property into a grassroots football facility. Together, they hope to develop players utilizing a system that goes against the United States pay-for-play youth soccer model by opening free-to-parents academies. The end goal is to give young players a better platform for growth and opportunity in the sport; and hopefully inspire a new generation of footballers.
