SEND IASS North Northants (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service) is a free, confidential, and impartial service for children and young people with SEND, and their parents and carers. SEND IASS are a parent-led service shaped by the experiences of families who use it. Their goal is to provide clear, accessible information and support so families can make informed decisions about education, health, and social care. Working at arm’s length from the local authority, the service offers tailored advice informed by legislation, to ensure accurate, high-quality consistent support. The service is guided by a steering group made up of parents, carers, young people, and professionals from education, health, and social care, helping keep the service balanced and effective. They also run a Young Person's Advisory Council – Truth from the Youth – giving young people a voice in shaping services that support them.
