Royal Caribbean offers the full PADI scuba certification during the course of a cruise on certain ships: • How to Get SCUBA Certified on a Cruis... The certification requires "confined water dives" (which are completed on sea days in one of the pools), and "open water dives" which are (supposed to be) completed at Cococay and another port of the itinerary. (Not mentioned in the video) we wanted to do the pool dives on the cruise still because a) our written-test/studying part would expire after a year, and 2) Husband wanted to try to schedule open water dives for us privately either during this cruise, or in Miami/our next cruise which was one day after we got off this cruise. STAY TUNED! I generally recommend this for getting certified, with the asterisk that it might not actually happen, so you better also want to just go on the cruise.
