Short Book Review of Alive Character Design for Game, Animation and Film by Haitao Su The art featured in this book is just mindblowing. The character designs are amazing, great poses, amazing designs, great color. What this book is not is a step by step how-to book, it's has some nice tips and information on character design but doesn't teach fundamentals. So basically if you look at the art, it's a must have. If you want a book that teaches fundamental skills, get the books of Tom Bancroft before you move on to this one. The designs in this book are far to advanced and detailed to be a real help for beginners.
