Today we spent a beautiful morning at our local African village market where we shopped for fresh groceries harvested directly from nearby farms. Market days in the village are always full of life, color, and fresh food from hardworking farmers. During our visit, we bought a fresh red snapper fish that became the star ingredient for today’s recipe. Back at home we prepared one of the most delicious dishes — a creamy tamarind and coconut fish stew cooked the traditional African way. The rich flavors of tamarind, coconut milk, and natural spices make this recipe incredibly flavorful and comforting. To complete the meal, Mama Chogo — our wonderful neighbor — cooked soft layered pumpkin chapati, perfectly paired with the creamy fish stew. These traditional village meals remind us how powerful simple ingredients and authentic cooking can be. At the same time, progress continues on our dream home in the village in Africa. Today we completed the installation of backsplash tiles in our modern kitchen as part of our kitchen makeover. Seeing the kitchen transform step by step is a beautiful part of our journey.
