The Year We Refuse to Settle | Break the Cycle (Joshua 1) | Pastor Chris Buscher

Destruction does not always come through rebellion. Sometimes it comes through hesitation. In 1962, a fire ignited beneath the town of Centralia, Pennsylvania. You could not see it. Life continued as normal. But the danger was already underneath them. Over time, the ground cracked, the roads collapsed, and the town was lost. Centralia did not collapse overnight. It settled into destruction. In Joshua 1, Israel stands on the edge of promise after forty years of wandering. Moses is dead. The Jordan is in front of them. God does not explain. He commands movement. This message confronts cycles of delay, comfort, fear, and agreement without obedience. Courage is commanded because fear is expected. God’s promises are activated by movement, not agreement. This is a call to stop lingering in yesterday, refuse to shrink back, and move forward together in obedience. We will not repeat the last forty years. We will not settle between Egypt and the promise.
