Product Info: The first wave, which features basic and deluxe figures at different prices, offers nine heroes to choose from, including Iron Man, Captain America, Iron Spider, the Hulk, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Thor, Star-Lord and Rocket and Groot in a convenient two-pack. Each figure has seven points of articulation, except Rocket who can't bend his elbows. The sculpts on this line are OK, but nothing great. The masked and CGI faces translate well, while each of the real humans are a bit awkward. The stones are an odd addition to the figures, since there are only supposed to be six, and they aren't supposed to be the size of your head. Each of the plastic versions fits into a figure's included weapon, but they seem bulky and destined to fall off during play. That said, this is the only real misfire with these figures and it's not really an issue. Iron Man looks pretty good in his new armor, and the sculpt and paint job are nice. He comes with a giant blaster. Captain America comes with what is likely a Wakandan shield and is wearing his darker, post-Civil War costume. Cap looks nothing like Chris Evans, and he's awkwardly sculpted. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is decked out in his new Iron Spider costume, and he's is one of the best looking in the assortment. Iron Spider comes with a backpack that holds four mechanical arms, which is a nice reference to the Iron Spider costume featured in the comics . It's interesting to see that they're bringing that to the movie. Hulk is a slightly oversized figure and Hasbro did a good job making him significantly wider than some of the others. Normally, Hulk would be my favorite figure in the wave, but his face looks like a kid pretending to be angry, rather than someone who's actually angry. Hulk comes with a piece of concrete to throw. Black Widow is a surprisingly good unmasked figure, and while not a replica of Scarlett Johannsen, the face itself doesn't have an odd look to it. She comes with a staff and is wearing her blonde hair and new costume. Doctor Strange looks like you'd expect him to, although slightly more surprised. He comes with a mystic shield thing. Thor comes with his battle axe Stormbringer, and is still sporting his short hair look from Ragnarock. Thor has a confused look on his face. Star-Lord comes wearing his mask and jacket and is equipped with a giant gun. The best best item in the line is the Rocket and Groot two-pack. Featuring what seems to be the teenage Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 after credit scene, the figure is taller than the rest and wirey. Hasbro also added great detail to the sculpt, with the detail work on the tree bark standing out. Rocket isn't as great and has an oddly elongated neck.
