Originally Recorded 2018 Lecture: "From Mauerstrasse to Wall Street: A Designer's Journey" Inge Druckrey and Hans Allemann Inge Druckrey 1960-2018 Studying, Teaching, Working and Writing about Graphic Design Inge Druckrey was born in Berlin, Germany, and studied graphic design in Basel, Switzerland. In 1966, through a recommendation by Armin Hofmann, Inge and Hans were invited by Rob Roy Kelly to teach at Kansas City Art Institute. They were the earliest educators to bring Swiss design to the US. For over 40 years Inge taught at Yale University, Rhode Island School of Design, University of Hartford, Kunstgewerbeschule in Krefeld, Kansas City Art Institute, and Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts), where she is Professor Emerita of Graphic Design. Hans Allemann Memories of a Journey Reflections of a Career as a Designer and Educator Hans Allemann began teaching at the University of the Arts in 1973. In 1984, together with his partners Jan C. Almquist and Dana Jones, he founded the firm of Allemann Almquist & Jones, Design Consultants. In 1998 Hans was inducted into AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale). He is also a recipient of the AIGA Fellow Medal Award, and the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching.
