What's the difference between a medical student, medical resident, fellow, staff physician or attending physician? Medical teams can be so confusing, there are so many people taking on different roles. This video highlights the different levels of medical training and how many years it takes. I'm a first year internal medical resident - I can prescribe medications, I receive a salary, but I can only work under the supervision of an independent physician, as part of an accredited university residency program.
