The Manchester riots of 2011 left massive destruction. Captured in film and stills by Jason Harry during the early morning post the main riots when it was safer to walk the streets with a camera. Manchester photographer Jason Harry www.jasonharry.com In this video damage/looting at Liam Gallaghers shop Pretty green, Sainsburys, Dawsons Music Shop, Marks &Spencer , Dawsons music store, Diesel, Tesco's. Rioting originally centred around Picadilly Gardens and surrounding areas where media reported upto 2,000 people had gathered. The police struggled to contain the riot in the complex maze of roads as groups quickly move from area to area. This video shows the damage to business when it was more safer to take the images. Earlier in the evening I covered another local photographer who had twice been attacked and assulted. I watched his back and helped him move about more easlity in some very dangerous situations, and saved him from many more potential attacks on him and his equipment. Once he had finished I went out alone to catpure this footage.... it was at times more dangerous that earlier in the night.... I was lucky.
