1. Project Overview: No Imagination Allowed! — A Crossmedia Project Led by Children’s Imagination 2. Main Crossmedia Film: No Imagination Allowed! No Imagination Allowed! is a crossmedia project that turns children’s imagined creatures into stories, characters, and experiences. Launched in the summer of 2024, the project invited children across South Korea to draw their own imaginary friends through an open online call and creative workshops. To ensure inclusive participation, ten in-person workshops were held with a professional author, reaching children in underserved communities, including a rural elementary school in Hwacheon, a children’s hospital in Yangsan, and public workshops in collaboration with Kyobo Book Centre. More than 600 original creature drawings were submitted. Following a professional jury review, 50 works were developed into an online exhibition using AI-based creative tools. A nationwide public vote then selected 20 characters to appear in the picture book. The selected characters were illustrated and brought together by author and illustrator Kyung-Kuk Lee, and published as the picture book No Imagination Allowed! on May 5, 2025—Children’s Day in Korea. The project later expanded into an e-book, which briefly ranked No. 1 in the children’s picture book category on Millie’s Library, and an animated series broadcast on major Korean IPTV platforms, including KT KidsLand. Now continuing its journey, No Imagination Allowed! is expanding into interactive AR books and companion apps, building an evolving crossmedia universe where children’s imagination becomes content—and participation helps shape its future.
