Are you new to merchant accounts and payment gateways? HOW TO GET HIGH RISK MERCHANT PROCESSING FOR YOUR BUSINESS https://gum.co/highriskcreditcardproc... Unlike Paypal and Stripe which are "third party aggregators" and not actual merchant processors, a true merchant account has two parts, a payment gateway and a merchant account. With Stripe and Paypal they act as both, but again, are not a true merchant account. A merchant account is simply the bank backing and processing your transactions. You need a payment gateway which is essentially the backend, or interface which allows you to hook the merchant account up to your website, eBay, or to use the virtual terminal to take phone orders. Authorize.Net is probably the most popular payment gateway around. It works with eBay, Shopify and most shopping carts like BigCommerce, Volusion, and others. Authorize.Net has a fraud filter suite which allows you to block and filter certain types of transactions. You can limit how large of an order you will accept by card, you can block certain countries IP addresses from ordering, you can block any order where shipping address doesn't match the billing address, and much much more. This can be confusing to setup however so in this video we walk you through how to set your fraud filters. My example is a bit extreme, most people won't need to set their filters this strict but I give a walkthrough of how I have mine setup and explain and show the various filters.
