JoGLE ep. 34: Hiking across Somerset | stinging nettles, orchards and England's smallest city

Come along for Days 85 to 87 of our End-to-End hike across the UK where we walked across Somerset from Bath to Langport. Highlights of this stretch included the famous city of Glastonbury as well as England's smallest city Wells which turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of the entire hike. I hadn't heard of it before but was blown away by how beautiful it was. The magic of a thru-hike: you never know what's around the corner :) But as always there were some tough moments too: a scary cattle encounter, totally overgrown sections full of brambles, road walking and a footpath that disappeared into a field of crops. Route: Bath-Oakhill (17.9mi/28,8km) Oakhill-Glastonbury (15.7mi/25,3km) Glastonbury-Pitney (14.6mi/23,5) -- In April 2023, I set off on my biggest adventure so far: A 1600mile long hike all across Britain from Dunnet Head in Scotland to Lizard Point in Cornwall.
