Italian battleships will always fascinate me. Some of the most beautiful ships out there. And ships with interesting stories. As I've finished covering the Conte di Cavour-class, let's move on to the Andrea Doria-class. Or, alternatively, the Duilio-class. Beginning with Duilio (or Caio Duilio, though this is probably inaccurate in this case). A battleship with a mostly quiet life, other than being one of the ships damaged at Taranto. Damage that the ship would survive, allowing her to be put back into service. Service that would continue, as one of two battleships left to Italy in the postwar years. Duilio would, ultimately, endure until the 1950s in reserve service. Not a bad run, for a ship that originated in the 1910s.
