Little Lesson 7 for Lute Dulcimer - Power Chords Of Note: I’m playing my Wanderer No. 17 tuned DAD. Currently still available at my site Power chords are the base for our other chord variations up the neck Like I mention in the video, due to their ambiguous nature you can use them to substitute major or minor chords of the same name Power chords are often called 5th chords (labeled with a ‘5’) because the are only composed of the root note and the fifth of their scale. E.g. D5 is D and A Use them for a big, chunky sound And, like I preach in almost every video, all the chords you can play are in the one scale the dulcimer uses so throw them in while you improv and see how they fit. You might be surprised how it all just fits together (by design) My instruments are all made by hand by me If you're interested in checking them out you can find my available models at: https://www.wildsparrowstrings.com
