5029 Nunney Castle + 47812 powering with The Torbay Express 14th July 2013

5029 Nunney Castle was privileged to do the first steam hauled Torbay Express of 2013 with a bit of assistance from 47812 due to NR being concerned of lineside fires with steam only. The last time that a Castle was hauling The Torbay Express was 5051 Earl Bathurst in 2004 so it was more of a spectacle to come and see it. The first location was Bedminster as she came through on time with very nice long GWR whistle with 47812 doing work as well as they head towards Weston Super Mare and Taunton. I catched the 10:00 HST to Penzance on my way to Dawlish my other location, but it turned against me as an engineer train being nearly an hour and a half early we where stuck outside Taunton. Luckily, 5029 and 47812 had to stay in the loop to wait for my train to pass through. Because our train arrived into Dawlish 15 mins late, The Torbay Express was running around 10 mins late as she came powering through with a lot of whistles along the sea wall as she came through in brill sunshine and very little wind to interfere my video. Managed to meet up with James (NwsNoaaChaser), Kristian (letmadnessbegin), Tom (BristolCastle and James (JSBVideoProductions) and headed to Paignton to take some pics and shots of her at the PD&SR Paignton Station for servicing where we had good laugh together and a lot of banter. Hope of more brilliant performances with Nunney Castle on her own when the weather cools down.
