Passing through Sheethanger Common and Bury Wood, the footpaths gently descend toward Gorsefield Wood, where the shifting textures of the landscape create a tranquil rhythm. Here, the bridlepath around Westbrook Hay leads across the rolling grounds of Little Hay Golf Course, eventually arriving in the village of Bourne End. From this charming waypoint, the walk follows Sugar Lane, tracing its gentle course towards Berkhamsted. The final stretch winds through the cemetery, a quiet reminder of the town’s rich heritage, before arriving in the heart of Berkhamsted, where the blend of countryside and history makes for a rewarding and picturesque journey.
