At the Zamboanga sea front, Manuel wanted to buy a ticket to go home and be with his dying mother. However, all tickets were sold out, and Manuel cried in anguish. Another passenger, Cesar Colanggo, who was with his son Arnel, approached Manuel and gave him his ticket, since he needed it the most. Out of gratitude, Manuel told Cesar that he would pay him back someday. Years went by, and Manuel became a lawyer, while Arnel drove for a car rental business. The two met when Attorney Manuel hired Arnel to drive him from Butuan to Zamboanga. Arnel thanked Attorney Manuel for hiring him, because he was also headed to Zamboanga to visit his father. Along the way, Arnel noticed that Attorney Manuel was very helpful and merciful to the people they met on the road.
