To program a West 4400 controller you need to go through the following steps. Before you start, make sure RUN and HLD indicators are not on and SET and PRG indicators are not on. Press the PROG button until the program number you wish to reprogram appears. Press the “Scroll” and the UP-arrow button at the same time. The number zero should appear. Use the arrow keys to change to change to the “Program Define Mode Lock Value”. This will be different for every controller hopefully you have it recorded somewhere in your original literature. If you put in the wrong code the oven will return to the original base screen. After you put in the security code press the scroll key. The SET and PRG indicators should go on. If you do not know your code number maybe go through the monotonous procedure of putting one number at a time: 1, 2, 3, 4, ... eventually you will come to your unlocking number. After you energize the SET and PRG numbers the program number will appear and next to it will be the segment number. The first one will be “1”. The words “Final SP” will appear. This is the final set point for the segment. Use the arrow keys top adjust the set point. When done press the scroll key. The word “time” will appear. This is the time that the segment will last. The dot separates the hours and the minutes. (0.30 is thirty minutes. 1.20 is an hour and 20 minutes) Use the arrow keys to adjust the time up or down. When done press the scroll key. The word “event” will appear. This is a code that describes the actions that will be done by the controller. There are four relays that the controller can be wired into the right-hand side of the controller. Relay one is on the right. The code must be matched with the way that the programmer is wired in. The codes will vary from oven to oven. When done press the scroll key and the controller will advance to the next segment. If it is the last segment press the “mode” key until the word “Exit?” appears. Press the scroll key. This should bring you back to the base mode. There is an error at the end of the video where I should have pressed the "scroll" key instead of the "mode" key to get out of the programming. Or you can turn the oven and controller on and off to reset it to the base mode. Or if we really confused you you can email us at [email protected]. Or call us at 312-550-7083.
