Fedora 17 Beefy Miracle Runs Great

In this screencast we take a look at the highly anticipated Fedora 17 running Gnome-Shell. The Gnome-Shell has come along nicely and the experience is quite pleasant and peppy. We are running the latest Gnome-Shell 3.4.1 and with this release It will work on most hardware as it will use software rendering. The system is also quite stable in normal usage and the applications that I installed are at their latest. Due to Fedora's commitment to FREE Software principles and legal reason, nonfree codecs, flash etc. are not their in the repos but you can easily install it through autoplus. Run the following command in terminal su -c 'yum -y --nogpgcheck install http://dnmouse.org/autoplus-1.4-5.noa... ,then launch autoplus and install the codecs and other stuff that you may need. autoplus adds the RPM fusion repos to your system and accesses stuff from it. Chromium is not in the repos for some reason but as I mentioned you can download Chrome(I prefer Chromium) and it runs fine. All in all Fedora 17 has been a pleasant experience for me as I am happy with the development of Gnome-Shell and Fedora. You can download it from here http://fedoraproject.org/get-fedora.html
