A little throwback to one of our showcases, last year, when Alyx Bell performed her warm sound that feels like a hug! California-born, London-based Alyx Bell fuses jazz chords and soul grooves with folk melodies and emotive lyrics to create a unique sound. Inspired by singer-songwriters such as Joni Mitchell, Lianne La Havas, D’Angelo, and Cleo Sol, Alyx exerts quiet strength through clever, thoughtful, and occasionally humorous lyrics. After two years of mentorship in music production from London’s Jordan Rakei, Alyx left her career as a mechanical engineer in the United States to join the music scene in London. Her music has been played on Jazz FM, Global Soul Radio, Radio 1 Prague, and BBC Radio London. At one of our showcases, in 2023, she performed a sweet cover of “Middle of Eden”, by Maverick Sabre & Sasha Keable. ______________________________________________________________ Effervescent Sounds is a music discovery platform based in London that spotlights singers with powerful voices in pop, soul, RnB and jazz.
